Don’t underestimate the importance of first sight!
On sales sites, what makes buyers want to click on one ad rather than another is the photo. If you want to sell your used equipment quickly, marketing should not be neglected: it is through this that you reach potential buyers.

Follow our advice to know how to take a good photo of your used equipment and thus increase your chances of closing a sale.
1.Cleanliness: a must
Clean equipment will sell much more than the same equipment covered in dirt. Your equipment will look better maintained and inspire more confidence if it is cleaned in photos. Plus, you might get a better price! So, shall we get out the pressure washer and sponges?

2.Light: an obligation
Light is the basis of photography. Ideally, the equipment should be taken out into daylight; you will have the optimal conditions there. If this is not possible, open all lights and doors and windows near the equipment. One or two workshop lamps will also be of great help. Each light source is important in order to obtain usable photos.

3.Framing: remember to clear
In a paper publication or on the Web, there is often only one photo available at first: the thumbnail. It’s this tiny photo that will attract buyers. The framing, especially the size of the shots, should vary in the series of photos you take. You want to have the equipment in full frame, that is to say as a whole, but also in close-up to show details. Equipment with a clear perimeter will allow you to work on the different planes.

4.The “decor”: an additional asset
Equipment with a neutral, clear background such as a field or building is the ideal place to take a shot of your equipment. In fact, nothing disturbs the eye: we only focus on the equipment which becomes the center of attention! In addition, remember to remove everything that is superfluous: empty trailers, remove any unnecessary objects inside tractors, trucks, etc. and around the equipment. In short, we make a little effort to make the equipment attractive.

5. The seasons: not so unpredictale
The seasons impact the quality of the photos you take as well as the marketing of your equipment. Think about the environment where the equipment is located: a muddy field, a field of tall grass or brush, a location subject to bad weather? All of this sometimes makes taking a clear shot more difficult. Also be aware that the buyer will be inclined to negotiate more for equipment that looks “abandoned”.
